Galatians 3.13 “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law having become a curse for us, as it is written, cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.”
When Jesus died on the cross, He redeemed us, bought us back, paid the penalty and ransom so we could be free. The wages of sin are eternal death. Jesus died on the cross and went to hell, into eternal death, where He paid the price that should have been put on us. (Isaiah 53.5).
Even though Jesus paid the price for our sins we must accept His sacrifice in our life so we can be free from sin. Romans 10.9-10 says “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”
Jesus had paid our price for sin and redeemed us, but we have a part in it by accepting His sacrifice into our life confessing Him as our Lord and savior. We rest in the fact that Jesus paid for our sins and are no longer trying to work our way into heaven. The work is complete and our acceptance of this seals it in our life.
Acts 4.12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.” Jesus has paid the price and in His name, and His name alone is salvation, redemption from sin and eternal death.
1 John 5.11-12 “And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.” This is a pretty simple statement and the cost of salvation is free in Jesus. He paid the price we could not pay. He redeemed us from that which we were trapped in. He overcame all that had overcome us.
Today is the day of salvation. If you never received Jesus in your life as Lord and Savior, you can today. If you speak to God and tell Him you believe Jesus died for your sin, and that the power of God raised Him from the dead so you can be redeemed, then salvation can belong to you. God holds no sin against you, Jesus paid for it all. Don’t let another day go by with your sins having been paid for, but you’re not receiving salvation from them. Be free today, be saved in Jesus.
