Galatians 5:1 says “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore, keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” Jesus paid our debt with the shedding of His spotless blood to free us. We accepted His sacrifice as Savior and now continue living in His freedom. We are free from sin and all of its effects on us as a human being in spirit, soul, and physical body.
Satan realized he couldn’t destroy the church. In his craftiness, he catches us in the busyness of life and worry then chokes out the Word of freedom. In our busyness, we don’t perceive his influence beginning to slow down and ultimately stop the power of God working in our life until a fresh fire of influence comes into our lives and opens our eyes. Then we can turn from Satan’s influences and back to the freedom we were once standing in.
Having recently celebrated the day Columbus discovered this great nation, we celebrate the idea of her freedom. Our Founding Fathers framed our constitution with the idea that we will never be oppressed again – not even by our own government. Unfortunately, this subtle influence has taken effect in our nation over the course of some decades.
We were put under a heavy financial bondage, pushed to be divided by economics, race, religion, gender… We became busy trying to make a living, care for our families, pay our taxes, trying to advance and be good citizens of our nation. In our busyness, we failed to perceive the influence that came to halt the power of freedom in our nation. There were plans to change our constitution and our nation from being one indivisible under the one true God. The purpose of our founders was freedom: a freedom we must continue to stand in!
Luke 19.13 “…He said to them, ‘Occupy until I come.’” It is now our turn to step up and put our personal wants on the side to save our nation and its freedom that our founders fought, bled, and died for. We can continue as a constitutional republic that is by, for and of the people!
Let’s do our part in November for freedom at the ballot box. OCCUPY AND PRAY!
