Mark 10:49-50 (NASB77) “And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him here.” And they •called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage, arise! He is calling for you.” And casting aside his cloak, he jumped up, and came to Jesus.

Bartimaeus was a blind man that begged every day for food. His cloak was one that a blind beggar would wear. This cloak identified him as a blind man and as a beggar.

He called out to Jesus as He was passing by. Others told him to be quiet, but he cried out all the more. Then Jesus stopped and called Bartimaeus to Himself. The very first thing Bartimaeus did was to cast aside his cloak. He put aside what he was identified with. He put off his identity knowing something was going to change. Bartimaeus did not wait for the change, then based on the change take on a new identity. No! He cast aside the identity he had, ready to take on the identity he was believing for.

Mark 10:51-52 (NASB77) “And answering him, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!” And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.”

Bartimaeus received what he was believing for, his faith making him well! He now has a new identity. He is a man with sight and no more begging for his food. He had an image on the inside which caused him to throw off an outward image, taking on what he had within him.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NASB77) “Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

As a believer, what is the image we are seeing within ourselves? What is the image we are walking by? What is the image we are partaking of and having manifested into our lives? Learn about the image of the new creature, walk in that, and allow your life to change from the inside out! You will be so blessed in doing so.
