Six us went to the airport to fly out to Dallas. We had our tickets and boarding passes, but we did not have seats assigned. The flight was over booked, and we had to wait for seats to be assigned. As we are sitting there, a woman comes over and asks me who is more important? In other words, if someone had to be left behind, who would I choose as being least important? Would you want someone making that decision for you? I told her that all six were important, and all six needed to be on that flight!!
We wanted to break out in a shouting match, pointing our finger at each other and accuse one another of not being important enough to go!! Ha! I thought that would have been quite comical, except that security would have been called and we would be hauled away and all six of us would have missed our flight! By the way, all six of us were able to get seats assigned and fly out to Dallas.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 says, “The Lord Himself will descend with a shout…. and we will be caught up to meet Him in the air…” When Jesus returns, He will not be picking out who He thinks is important enough to go. We are all important to Him and His desire is for all of us to go. He does not pick and choose. He says we are all important to Him, but is He important to all of us??
Jesus showed we were important because He died for us all. We show He is important to us because we live for Him. Who is going with Jesus when He returns? Not those that He thinks are important, but those that think He is important and show it by living for Him.
Do you have your flight ticket? Is your seat assigned, or are you hoping for a spot at flight time? Let’s be ready. Let’s have our seats assigned. Let’s gather together forever!! You are important enough for Him to have died for you, so you could have life through Him!!!!!
