Do you have your computer and smart phone set up with all the sounds and alert tones? Every time you get email you hear, ‘Ding’ you’ve got mail. Maybe a text message comes in on your phone and you hear some sort of Ding or a song or some other alert tone. Of course, if you are on any social network, then you can have it alert you every time there is activity on your post, comments, mailbox, or alerts. After a while everything is ‘dinging’ at you to alert you to some sort of new correspondence. Ding- you’ve got mail; Ding- you’ve got text.

            Do we have our human spirit set up to be alerted when the Holy Spirit is giving us a message, an alert, a notice, or a warning? Are we as quick to hear Him as we are our phones? Romans 8.14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God theses are sons of God.” He wants to lead us, direct us, speak to us, teach us. The Spirit of God always will lead us to a wealthy place. A place of abundance, a place of increase.

            This is not about money. It can include money, but it can also be a wealth of peace, harmony, health, joy, and many things that can add to our life of being led by the Spirit of God. We must be aware of His leading. Listen to Him as He leads. Follow His leading. Set ourselves in position to hear Him when He wants to get something across to us.

            In John 10 Jesus says, He is the Good Shepherd. He goes ahead of the sheep and the sheep follow because they know His voice. It is important to know the voice of the Lord, the voice of the Spirit of the Lord God. The best way to learn His voice is to spend time in His Word, the Bible. He will speak to us through His written Word which was spoke through men by the Holy Spirit. (1 Thessalonians 2.13; 2 Peter 1.20-21)

            Let’s be sure our notifications preferences are up to date. That our volume is turned up. That we are ready to hear and answer the Spirit of God the moment we get the “Ding!”
