What We Believe
The Holy Bible – The Divinely Inspired Word of God. The Bible was written by men through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is the revelation of God to man and is the inerrant, infallible rule of faith and conduct. (1 Corinthians 2:13, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 1:1-2, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
The Triune God – God in Three Persons Creator of all things, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Gen.1:1, Gen.1:26, Mat.28:19, Luke 3:22)
God the Father – First Person of the Trinity As the other members of the Godhead, the Father was before time and forever will be. He is the Creator and is supreme in His authority. He is Spirit and the Father of spirits, the Father of Lights, the Father of Israel, and the Father of every person who belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Giver of all good gifts, the One to whom Jesus tells us to pray, and the One whom Jesus Himself prayed to. (Genesis 1:1, Exodus 4:22-23, Isaiah 63:16, John 4:21-24, Matthew 6:6-13, John 5:18, John 17:1-3, 1 John 3:1)
Jesus Christ – Second Person of the Trinity. He is Completely God and completely man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sin of mankind, was resurrected from the dead, and has ascended to the Father’s right hand. He will one day return to judge mankind at the Final Judgment: Eternal death for those who do not believe, and eternal life for those who do believe. (Matthew 1:18-23, Matthew 3:17, Matthew 14:33, Matthew 28:5-6, Luke 24:46-47, John 1:14, John 17:1-5, Acts 2:22-24, Acts 4:12, Romans 1:3-4, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Galatians 4:4-5, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 2:9, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, Isaiah 9:6-7)
The Holy Spirit – The Third Person of the Trinity. He dwells in each believer and His ministry is actively at work in them to convict, to comfort, to counsel, to guide, to empower, and to sanctify. Subsequent to salvation, the baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to every believer with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. His Gifts are distributed to believers and are given for the edification of all. (Joel 2:28-32, Matthew 3:11, Luke 11:13, John 16:7-4, Acts 1:4-8, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:2-6, Romans 8:9-16, Romans 8:26-27, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Ephesians 1:13-14)
Man – God’s Supreme Creation – Man was created in the image and likeness of God. He was designed to have fellowship with God, yet willingly sinned against God and was completely separated from Him. In this sinful condition, man is powerless to attain a right relationship with God on his own. God has created each individual with a purpose and ultimately for His glory. (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 2:7, Psalm 8:3-6, Psalm 139:13-16, Isaiah 43:7, Jeremiah 1:5, Luke 12:6-7, Acts 17:26-31, Romans 3:19-20, Ephesians 2:10)
Salvation – Eternal life in Jesus Christ. Since all mankind has sinned and is unable to save themselves, Jesus Christ stepped in as the perfect substitute, shedding His blood on the cross for our sin. Salvation is necessary for eternal life and only possible through repentance of sin, faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, and the declaration of His Lordship over their life. (Psalm 51:16-17, Isaiah 1:18, Isaiah 53:5-6, Isaiah 55:7, Matthew 1:21, John 3:3, John 3:16, John 5:24, John 6:40, Acts 2:21, Acts 4:12, Acts 16:30-31, Titus 3:5-7, Romans 3:21-30, Romans 5:8-10, Romans 10:9-10, 1 Corinthians 1:18, 2 Corinthians 5:17-20, Galatians 4:4-7, Ephesians 2:8-10, Hebrews 9:27-28)
Eternity – The Afterlife Every person will exist forever either in everlasting life or in eternal death. Both Heaven and Hell are real places. If we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and follow after Him, we will have everlasting life with Him in Heaven. If we reject God, we will continue in sin and be sentenced to eternal death in Hell. (Matthew 10:28, Matthew 25:31-46, John 3:16, John 3:36, John 5:28-29, John 11:25, John 14:2-3, Romans 6:23, 2 Corinthians 5:1-10, Philippians 3:20-21, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 John 5:11-13, Revelation 20:11-15)
The Church – The Body of Christ. The church is not a building but rather the individual and collective body of believers that are called to fulfill the work that was begun by Jesus Christ. The church has been set in place by God to proclaim His Gospel to all the ends of the earth and is called to work together in unity and love. (Matthew 16:18, Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:6-8, Acts 2:42-47, 1 Corinthians 7:17, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, 2 Corinthians 5:18-20, Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 2:19-22, Ephesians 4:15-16, Colossians 1:18, Colossians 3:15)
Healing – The Children’s Bread. Jesus died that we would have eternal life, but He also suffered scourging that we would be healed. It is a privilege for the Children of God in this life to walk in health. (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:14-17, Acts 10:38, James 5:14, Exodus 15:26, Exodus 23:25, Psalm 107:19-21, Psalm 103:2-4, Psalm 41:2-3, Proverbs 4:20-24, Acts 19:11-12)
Sanctity of Life – Every Life Matters. God has ordained life from the very beginning. There is purpose and destiny attached to each individual soul. Therefore, since life, purpose, and destiny begins at conception, each individual baby has the God-given right to life, to fulfill their purpose in this life and to walk in their destiny. (Psalm 139:13-14, Psalm 127:3-5, Jeremiah 1:5, Pro. 6:16-17, Esther 4:14,).
Sanctity of Marriage – The Husband and Wife Marriage was set in place by God Himself in the beginning between one man and one woman, a holy union physically and spiritually, and was to be held in honor among witnesses, consummated following the marriage, and sustained in mutual love and commitment. The marriage bed is to be undefiled. (Genesis 2:18, 23-24, Hebrews 13:4, Malachi 2:13-16, 1 Corinthians 7:39, Song of Solomon 8:6-7, Matthew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:22-33)
Ordinance of Water Baptism – An Outward Sign of Inward Change. As evidenced in scripture, Jesus was fully immersed in water as a type of His death and resurrection. Subsequent to salvation, Water Baptism is a sign to the world of the inward change that has taken place in our hearts. It is a symbol of being brought from death into life, that which has taken place spiritually. (Romans 6:3-4, Matthew 3:13-17, Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:36-39, Acts 10:47-48, Acts 16:30-33, Acts 22:16, 1 Corinthians 6:11, Galatians 3:27, Colossians 2:12, Hebrews 6:1-2)
Ordinance of the Lord’s Supper – An Outward Partaking of Inward Sharing We are told by Jesus to partake of the elements of bread and wine as a memorial to His death until He returns. It is also a symbolic representation of our partaking of the divine nature in Christ. (Luke 22:18-20, 2 Peter 1:4, 1 Corinthians 10:16-17, 1 Corinthians 11:26)
